Amy Cooper is a passionate educator, with over 15 years of teaching experience. Wilshire Park's mission echo her beliefs. Dr. Cooper values students, families, and community members. Creating a classroom culture with individualized experiences inclusive to strong student connectedness is at the heart of educating her students. Dr. Cooper infuses innovative practices that capture learning styles and showcase the variety of learners in a classroom. Students will regularly experience activities to shape them as tomorrow’s leaders by developing a climate of kindness, respect, and collaboration driven by her students.

 

Ms. Cooper received her doctoral degree in educational leadership, inquiry and transformation at Concordia, Portland, OR.

 

As an elementary educator, her evolving emphasis includes all aspects of the whole child and their unique needs. Learning is based on the growth-mindset (that all children can learn and grow). The development of small group instruction to meet student's learning continuum while providing a vast range of opportunities for higher level engagement are evident in the classroom.

 

Outside of teaching; Amy enjoys writing, reading, running, yoga and spending time with her two young sons and fiancé.
